Dr Simon Child

GP Locum - Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire

If you are looking for locum GPs in the North-West, especially in Lancashire, Manchester or Cheshire, then please read my GP locum pages for details of:

I am available for full-time or part-time locum GP work. I have been a full-time GP Principal spending 20 years in the same practice in Bury, Lancs. In 2005 I resigned from being senior partner at my practice in order to become a career GP locum so as to release time to follow my other interests (see below).

This was a good and well-respected practice in purpose-built premises, achieving full score in QOF, and hence I am well experienced in modern high-quality general practice, both clinically and from the business perspective.

When I work in your practice I bring not only the excellent clinical skills of an experienced doctor but also an intimate knowledge of the business of general practice and the importance to you of accurate and comprehensive QOF data, efficient administration, and patient satisfaction. I am willing to undertake most types of work, e.g. full cover, surgeries, paperwork including repeat prescriptions, visits, just let me know what sort of cover you require.

Full documents and CV available on request - email me.

I am available to work across a range of locations in the northwest of England, primarily in Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Since I work freelance rather than through a GP locum agency the cost to you will be less - users of  GP locum agencies pay commission to the locum agency on top of paying the locum fee!

IMT

I am also active in particularly in relation to general practice but also in other areas:

Meditation

I am a practitioner and fully qualified teacher of Chinese Zen meditation.

I am a founder member of the Western Chan Fellowship, and have been the secretary of the charity since it was founded in 1997.

I lead residential zen retreats for the Western Chan Fellowship and also at Gaia House and some other venues in UK, Europe, and USA, and also at our local Chan meditation group in Manchester.

If you want to find out more then please see the Newcomers Information page on the website of the Western Chan Fellowship.
